Times are changing.

Technology and free trade agreements have almost erased national borders. New types of communications and information technology have created frontiers and radically changed the pace and the way business is transacted. International commerce is creating more competition but it is also giving smaller companies more chances to compete against larger ones. Never before has the global "playing field" become so even and opportunities so abundant. But what has not changed are national cultures and the need for personal and trusted relationships.

Washington International Business Ventures (WIBV) is a business development and market research firm. We are strategically positioned on the east and west coasts of North America to facilitate business across both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans helping clients become  more successful in the global marketplace.  Our mission is to build trade, technology and investment alliances in emerging knowledge-intensive technologies.

Science & Technology Documentary Programs for Television

We frequently help research, coordinate and produce documentary programming for Japan TV producers. Over the last nine years we have helped produce over 300 programs in such diverse areas as theories on the extinction of the dinosaurs, human embryo research, auto safety and black-holes.

International Business Development

WIBV identifies business opportunities in Japan and North America, providing time-sensitive market intelligence and when required, the right connections. We report and follow technology trends, assess joint venture partners and manage projects in both regions. We identify new business opportunities, points of market entry and provide guidance on licensing, staffing, technology transfer and financing.

 Global Venture Forum 2003

WIBV is the North American Secretariat for GVF, the international investment and business development forum held in Osaka every October. On behalf of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, WIBV recruits applicants to give business plan presentations in Japan.  The purpose is to find appropriate partners in environmental, bio-medical and other high technology industries. This unique event has resulted in numerous firms successfully finding partners for technology transfer, distribution and finance. Please see the brochure.

Market Research & Technology Transfer

WIBV assesses products, services and technologies for potential market acceptance and undertakes strategic comparisons of competitive advantages: products, prices, distribution and technological factors. For a flavor for the kind of projects we do, please see our list of past project titles.
